Manage operation of a TCP/IP network to provide

Provided customer service skills to guide customers
through their varied issues with desktop, notebook and server hardware as well
as software applications and peripherals such as printers and scanners. This
work required excellent listening skills, ability to troubleshoot complex issues
and advanced knowledge of Microsoft Office Suites. I was quickly promoted to
one of the premier support teams within the company which was providing outsourced
customer support for Netscape Server Products. This was in the early days of
Internet technologies when Netscape server products were the defacto standard
of excellence. I worked with IT professionals and engineers on complex server
and software configuration issues. As my time on this team progressed I was
placed in charge of the Netscape Mail Server, News Server, Catalog Server and
Livewire technology support team. After successfully heading up this team I
was placed in charge of a new product line which was a partnership with Novell
and Netscape to develop a web server platform named Novonyx. This position
required expert knowledge in Sun Solaris Novell and Windows NT operating systems.

Manager PenCycle and PenFax Information Systems
This job was an exciting opportunity for me to
find an entry level into a highly responsible computer technology career. I
developed, managed and expanded the PenCycle and PenFax systems. These systems
were a electronic on line bulleting board and fax-on-demand system for sharing
and disseminating environmental information to businesses, professionals and
consumers in Pennsylvania. The project was developed from grants provided by
the Pew Trust, Benjamin Franklin Technology Fund and Pennsylvania Department
of Environmental Resources. I was also responsible for providing computing
resources support to the management and employees of the organization. I managed
a 16 node Lantastic network.

In this position I was responsible for safety of the physical
environment for over 1500 day clients, 400 residents and 2000 employees. I
directed a department of 7 employees who held the position of Fire-Safety and
Security Officers. This was a 24/7 operation that I managed. I worked closely
with all levels of management to ensure regulatory compliance with DPW and
ICF/MR regulations as well as municipal police and fire personnel. During my
last 3 years in this position I was moved to the staff development department
where I developed and presented all fire safety awareness training, developed
and presented a drivers safety course for employees, Right-To-Know and Universal
precautions training.
